Destroyed building in Aita ech Chaab, Southern Lebanon

Over 25 people took refuge in the basement of this building for days during the bombardment by Israel in July 2006. They survived, but the father of one family inside was killed by an Israeli missile during his morning prayers. The building and surrounding area looks much as it did the day Israel stopped the attack. This doll was unmoved by me. It was possibly placed by another for a photograph - it is also more likely that it was set down by someone sorting through the rubble. Whatever the story of why the doll lays here - it is important to know that I didn't put it there. The reality of the destruction to this town is staggering. Wasting time accusing people of "fauxtography" for images like this is really missing the forest for the tree.
